WU! Manila Meets Pinkie Grey, Part 2. Along with Juni was Lady, who had a larger-than-life personality. And it wasn’t a surprise when she picked this super vibrant blue (China Glaze Frostbite)and gold mani, and I love how it complements her skin tone. The holographic sequins adds another layer of bling to this already eye-catching mani.
WU! Manila Meets Pinkie Grey, Part 1. I had so much fun painting these nails for Juni from WU! Manila Magazine! She stopped by at Manos Nail Lounge to interview me for their art issue (out in August), and we just had a blast chatting and talking about life locally and abroad. She picked out this fresh color combo and we settled for a few different patterns to mix and match. For those who haven’t checked out this free magazine, you can find it at select stores and cafe all over Makati and Bonifacio Global City. It’s got plenty of reviews of good activities, eateries, and local establishments for expats and balikbayans alike. And did I mention it’s FREE? Go pick up an issue and watch out for my little feature in a couple of months! :)
Pink and Green Watercolors. Just experimenting with another watercolor look, this time keeping it softer and calmer. I included the 2nd picture just because I like how my nails kinda matched my pants. :)
Las Manitas: Hitomi Edition. She’s so darn cute! Check out one of my youngest clients, Hitomi. She’s turned 6 and looked like she grew about a foot since the last time I saw her, but she’s still the most well-behaved kids I’ve ever worked with.
Pretty In Pink. Gradients don’t always need to be high-contrast and in-your face. Case in point: Ann wanted to keep her nails traditionally pink, but with a slight twist. We used Chanel Rose Exuberant as a base and added Chanel Suspicious on the tips. Try it!
Fashionably Late. Agh, I’ve been slacking and this post is about two weeks late, but I’m still loving this look that I did on the lovely Agee Dee. She was nice enough to come back to Manos Nail Lounge later in the week just to see me (she had gotten her gray nails a few days earlier)! If you didn’t know that she’s the talented mind behind Cece Smith Clothing, well, now you know. Go check her out!
Bubbly. Check out Miss Rina’s lovely gradient tips! I love how this combination of neutrals (yeah, I think navy blue can be considered a neutral these days, right?) can tone down even the busiest nail art motif.
I have green thumbs! I haven’t done polka dot nails in a while, so I just had to get it out of my system! Plus, I finally bought a nice green polish and wanted to use it right away—this one is OPI Green-wich Village!
Summertime. How ironic was it that while I was painting these cute little accent nails on Maxinne, it started raining cats and dogs outside? Granted, we have been itching for cooler weather here in Manila, but I just thought it was amusing…right up until I realized I left my apartment windows open. =[
MOAR Black and Yellow. I’ve been having a lot of fun exploring the OPI Skyfall collection, so here’s another mani using their colors. This time, I’ve paired Goldeneye (just look how it glistens under the sun!) with some black loose glitter to create gradated tips. Ah, black and gold—you will never go out of style!
Neon Watercolor. Pam’s neon watercolor nails are all set for her upcoming trip to Boracay! We added a thin golden french tip to glam it up a bit. =) Just don’t ruin your gorgeous nails with that sunscreen, Pam!
Damn, That’s Bright! If you don’t think you can make neon nails brighter, try adding some neon polka dots on top! This blindingly fun pedicure was courtesy of the lovely Recil of Manos Nail Lounge. Make your appointment now to get this look and don’t forget to request Recil! =)
18k GOLDEN, Part 2. Veda saw my purple nails from a previous post and also wanted to get the royal treatment, but not before we performed an emergency fix on one of her broken nails. Can you tell which one has a rip in it? Here’s a hint: adding a snakeskin print helped cover up the bumps and bruises. ;)
Wear and Tear. This is my attempt at making “antiqued” nails using layers of OPI Tomorrow Never Dies, Moonraker, and The World Is Not Enough (all from the Skyfall Collection). The bottom picture shows an extra coat of TWINE for added shimmer.
The World of Accents! I like my nails how I like my men: with accents. ;) haha okay, that’s the extent of my comedic talents. In the meantime, here are a few satisfied clients who braved the nail art scene with the accent nails. Come and get yours at Manos every Saturday and Sunday!
